Empowering Minds, Inspiring Dreams

Nigeria’s first Winter Olympian, Simidele Adeagbo, engaged students in five (5) SEED Partner Schools from low-income communities in Lagos State in a memorable read aloud experience and interactive lesson centered around her newly released children’s book Sleigh, Sleigh, Sleigh All Day.

In this impactful story book, a young Nigerian girl named Damilola tries sleighing down an icy slope for the first time. She thinks she knows exactly what it’ll take to reach sledding success. With a snazzy new snowsuit and a lightning-fast sled, she comes to realize, however, that true victory lies not in what is seen but in unlocking her bravest, boldest, and best self.

This experience successfully planted the seeds of patriotism, courage, bravery, confidence and resilience in the next generation. The children also showed interest in reading, developing skills that will benefit them throughout their educational journey.

I learnt to always have confidence in myself and never give up.

~ Michael Agundu, Student, De Joyland Schools

Books In The Hands Of Children

Simidele went ahead to donate two hundred and fifty (250) copies of Sleigh, Sleigh, Sleigh All Day to the participating children in the five (5) SEED Partner Schools – De Joyland School, Drunet Angels Private School, Aimee Sempe School, Al-IKhlas Nursery & Primary School and Testimony Schools. The donated books expanded the range of personal reading materials available in the hands of these students.

Sleigh, Sleigh All Day was donated through the generosity of Visa, Inc., where Simidele is a Team Visa athlete.

We appreciate Simidele Adeagbo for the privilege to have her in our school. Sport as a whole develops students emotionally, mentally and physically. It should be encouraged in all schools.

~ Mr. Omogbemi Fayowole Samuel, School Leader, Drunet Angels Private School

Together, Simidele Adeagbo and SEED Care and Support Foundation are paving the way for a brighter future, one book at a time.
