Low-Fee Private Schools
SEED supports schools serving children from low income households. We work with school and teacher leaders in ensuring they are able to address obstacles that stand in their way of providing quality education by walking them through the journey towards making changes we call “school transformation“. Since 2016, we have been supporting low-fee private schools to transform their schools, equipping them with the tools needed to create environments where students can learn, thrive and succeed.
Our approach is founded on the lack of data-driven decisions for improving school quality. Schools are evaluated on key indicators using SQAT (our proprietary quality assessment tool) and are supported in the development of their school transformation plan. In-person and online trainings, mentoring and advisory support is provided for schools and other relevant education stakeholders. As finance is a critical component in achieving transformation, SEED provides access to finance opportunities for the school ecosystem. We offer opportunities for partners to support our schools as we know SEED alone is able to provide all the support required for complete transformation.
Above all, SEED fosters a community of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among schools, enabling them to learn from one another’s experiences and best practices. Through events, communities of practice and curated learning experiences, schools get to exchange ideas, innovations, and challenges, fostering a supportive ecosystem. Members of our network further benefit from access to information from and advocacy initiatives with State and Federal Ministry of Education and other Government Parastatals.

Joining the SEED Community in 2018 has been a game changer. With the SEED School Transformation Program, my school has moved from being a mushroom school to a standard school in my community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we benefitted from the palliative support for my family, staff & parents. Our pupils have also benefited from SEED partner programs such as the STEMMETS/Airbus Foundation program.

I loved the aspect which teaches on how to set aside whatever you earn. Also, how to collect fees from daily savings by opening an account in the school which enable them pay daily. With this, I had savings in our account at the end of the term. Although I had requested for finance from SEED's partner Microfinance Bank, I was able to save and also present my business plan to family & friends which helped me to raise funds for our secondary school.
