Established in 1994, Vera International School (Nursery, Primary & Secondary) educates about 550 children. Currently in 2 locations in the Ojo LGA of Lagos State, Nigeria, the school was founded and is being run by Mrs Veronica Ogboi. As one of the first 51 schools that participated in the pilot SEED School Transformation Program, her focus was Business Development Services (BDS) so as to learn how to improve her school business practices.

I loved the aspect which teaches on how to set aside whatever you earn in a term. Also, how to collect school fees from parents like daily savings by opening an account in the school which enable them pay daily. I have also implemented the habit of saving before spending. With this, I was able to have some savings in my account at the end of the term.

Vera International School Raises Funds Internally for Secondary School Development!!

After attending the SEED three-day boot camp and continuing support programme, the school proprietor of Vera International School was able to create savings plan for parents to help improve school fees payment.

Although she initially requested for finance from our partner Microfinance Bank, she was eventually able to save for herself and also present her business plan to family & friends which helped her to raise funds for infrastructure development for her secondary school without the need for external structured financing.

SEED is very proud of the achievements of Vera International School. Thus, it was selected to be one of the beneficiaries of our 2017 Education Voucher pilot program where one student received a 1 year scholarship.
